An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Cork. First ranked UCC Demons faced 3rd ranked UCD Marian. Host UCC Demons (15-5) defeated guests from Dublin (6-15) 84-66. UCC Demons dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to UCD Marian's 38. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Shawn Atupem (200-89, college: Mt.St.Mary's) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Niall Murphy (180-86) who added 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four UCC Demons players scored in double figures. Naturalized American power forward Owen McNally (203, college: Spring Hill) responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Kevin Foley (193-83) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. UCC Demons have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-5 record. UCD Marian lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the third place with 15 games lost.
