Eleventh-ranked Maccabi Haifa (3-15) used its home court advantage to challenge sixth ranked Hapoel J-M (9-8). The visitors from Jerusalem managed to secure only three-point victory 96-93. However their fans expected much easier game. Hapoel J-M dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Maccabi Haifa's 42. 24 personal fouls committed by Maccabi Haifa helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. International point guard Yuval Naimy (188-85) fired 23 points and 6 assists for the winners. International forward Elishay Kadir (202-87, agency: Avi Zilberman) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Hapoel J-M's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Tyler Wilkerson (202-88, college: Marshall) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import forward Jeremis Smith (203-86, college: Georgia Tech) added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively for lost side. Four Hapoel J-M and five Maccabi Haifa players scored in double figures. Hapoel J-M maintains sixth place with 9-8 record. Maccabi Haifa lost twelfth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Hapoel J-M's next round opponent will be higher ranked Hapoel Holon (#3) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
