Important game to mention about took place in Osaka. Sixth ranked Tochigi Brex (16-20) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 3rd ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (21-15) 78-75 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hitachi Sunrockers. Hitachi Sunrockers were ahead by 5 points after three quarters before a 25-17 charge of Tochigi Brex, which allowed them to win the game. International guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) notched 35 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and American forward Ivan McFarlin (203-82, college: Oklahoma St.) supported him with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Even 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) by Swedish forward Christian Maraker (206-82, college: Pacific) did not help to save the game for Hitachi Sunrockers. Guard Daisuke Kobayashi (188-87) added 15 points and 4 assists. Hitachi Sunrockers' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Tochigi Brex maintains sixth position with 16-20 record. Hitachi Sunrockers at the other side keep the third place with 15 games lost. Tochigi Brex will play against higher ranked Hokkaido L. (#5) in Saporro in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hitachi Sunrockers will play at home against the league's leader Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
