The game between Top Four teams took place in Siena. First ranked host Montepaschi Siena (16-6) defeated 4th placed Armani Milano (13-9) 77-68. The game without a history. Montepaschi Siena led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 21-of-24 charity shots (87.5 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for Australian center David Andersen (212-80) who led the winners and scored 13 points. Greek guard Nikolaos Zisis (197-83) accounted for 13 points for the winning side. Five Montepaschi Siena players scored in double figures. Greek center Ioannis Bourousis (212-83, agency: FCM) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and international forward Stefano Mancinelli (203-83) added 16 points respectively for Armani Milano in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending champion maintains first place with 16-6 record. Armani Milano at the other side dropped to the fifth position with nine games lost. They share it with CS Bologna. Montepaschi Siena will play against Cimberio Varese (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Armani Milano will have a break next round.
