The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Base Oostende as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Base Oostende defeated 4th ranked Okapi Aalstar at home 82-65. The hosts trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 42-19 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Base Oostende dominated on the defensive end, holding Okapi Aalstar to just 6 points in third quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Okapi Aalstar's 36. The game was dominated by American players.
