Very important is a road loss of second ranked Trieste (18-9) against fourth ranked Casalpusterlengo (16-11) on Sunday night. Visiting Trieste was defeated by Casalpusterlengo in Casalpusterlengo 73-63. The game was mostly controlled by Casalpusterlengo. Trieste managed to win second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Casalpusterlengo forced 19 Trieste turnovers and outrebounded them 38-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. Guard Roberto Prandin (188-86) fired 23 points and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Giampaolo Ricci (200-91) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Casalpusterlengo's coach Simone Lottici used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Marco Maganza (204-91) produced 19 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and forward Luca Gandini (205-85) added 9 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals respectively for lost side. Casalpusterlengo have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Treviglio. Loser Trieste keeps the second position with nine games lost. Casalpusterlengo will meet Pavia (#5) on the road in the next round. Trieste will play against the league's leader Trento and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
