An interesting game took place in Cremona where higher ranked Lottomatica Roma (10-12) was upset on the court of sixteenth ranked Vanoli-Braga (7-15) 87-71 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Lottomatica Roma. The game was mostly controlled by Vanoli-Braga. Lottomatica Roma was better in third quarter 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vanoli-Braga made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. Lottomatica Roma was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American swingman David Lighty (195-88, college: Ohio St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Jason Rich (191-86) helped adding 15 points and 4 assists. Bosnian forward Nihad Djedovic (196-90, agency: Beo Basket) responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds and Greek center Mihalis Kakiouzis (206-76, agency: Interperformances) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Vanoli-Braga moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Banca Tercas. Loser Lottomatica Roma dropped to the eleventh position with 12 games lost. Vanoli-Braga will face Banca Tercas (#16) in Teramo in the next round.
