An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Bertrange. First ranked T71 faced second-best Sparta. Guests from Dudelange (18-3) defeated host Sparta (16-5) 81-74. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. T71 made 21-of-24 charity shots (87.5 percent) during the game. It was a good game for the former international power forward Frank Muller (194-88, college: Cuesta JC) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds. International guard Tom Schumacher (190-87, college: Cal.Baptist) contributed with 25 points (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) for the winners. The former international forward Larrie Smith (198-75, college: Tenn Tech) answered with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and American-Nigerian power forward Ezenwa Ukeagu (203-81, college: Washington St.) added 12 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Sparta. Four Sparta players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains first place in League with 18-3 record. Sparta at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. T71 will play against Musel Pikes (#3) in Stadrbredimus in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Sparta will play on the road against Amicale in Steinsel and hopes to get back on the winning track.
