Regular Season Round 42: Chiba Jets - Shinshu BW 72-82

The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventh ranked Shinshu BW's (15-23) road victory over 8th ranked Chiba Jets (13-23) 82-72 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Shinshu BW. Chiba Jets was better in third quarter 19-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Chiba Jets 46-32 including 33 on the defensive glass. American players dominated the game. The best player for the winners was guard Derek Raivio (190-84, college: Gonzaga) who scored 18 points and 6 assists. Power forward Edward Morris (205-84, college: Pittsburg St.) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Maurice Hargrow (193-83, college: Minnesota) who recorded 22 points and 8 rebounds and guard Jamel Staten (198-83, college: Minnesota St.) added 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Chiba Jets' coach Eric Gardow rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Shinshu BW maintains seventh position with 15-23 record. Loser Chiba Jets keep the eighth place with 23 games lost. Shinshu BW will have a break next round. Chiba Jets will play on the road against Saitama Broncos (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
