The game between third ranked CS Bologna (13-9) and ninth ranked Cimberio Varese (12-10) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. CS Bologna was crushed by Cimberio Varese in Varese 86-63. The game without a history. Cimberio Varese led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great evening for French forward Yakhouba Diawara (201-82, college: Pepperdine) who led his team to a victory scoring 8 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Diego Fajardo (208-76, agency: Players Group) helped adding 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Cimberio Varese players scored in double figures. Cimberio Varese's coach Carlo Recalcati felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Finnish guard Petteri Koponen (194-88) responded with 14 points and American guard Chris Douglas-Roberts (201-87, college: Memphis) scored 13 points. Cimberio Varese moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Sidigas AV. CS Bologna at the other side dropped to the fifth position with nine games lost. They share it with Armani Mit. Cimberio Varese is looking forward to face league's leader Montepaschi Siena at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. CS Bologna will play against Fabi Shoes Montegranaro (#14) and is hoping to win this game.
