Regular Season Round 42: Takamatsu FA - Niigata Albirex 67-99

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Takamatsu FA (2-34) was crushed at home by fourth ranked Niigata Albirex (21-17) 99-67 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Niigata Albirex. Takamatsu FA was better in fourth quarter 32-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Niigata Albirex especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Takamatsu FA's players. The best player for the winners was American power forward Chris Holm (212-84, college: Vermont) who scored 12 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). The other American import forward Erron Maxey (198-78, college: Providence) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. Niigata Albirex's coach Matt Garrison felt very confident that he used 11 players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was STVn center Nyika Williams (203-87, college: Pacific) who recorded 20 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Kevin Smith (195-89, college: Richmond) added 15 points respectively. Niigata Albirex have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 21-17 record. Loser Takamatsu FA keeps the ninth place with 34 games lost. Niigata Albirex will face league's leader Okinawa GK at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Takamatsu FA will play against Oita Heat Devils (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
