Regular Season Round 19: Hapoel Holon - Maccabi T-A 77-82

An interesting game for Maccabi T-A (15-2) which played road game in Holon against 3rd placed Hapoel Holon (11-7). First ranked Maccabi T-A managed to get a 5-point victory 82-77. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hapoel Holon. The guests trailed by 14 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 5 points. Maccabi T-A made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Devin Smith (196-83, college: Virginia) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 7 rebounds. Swingman Keith Langford (193-83, college: Kansas) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Maccabi T-A players scored in double figures. Forward Tasmin Mitchell (201-86, college: LSU) answered with 23 points and guard Ron Lewis (193-84, college: Ohio St.) added 19 points and 4 assists in the effort for Hapoel Holon. Maccabi T-A have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 15-2 record. Hapoel Holon at the other side keeps the third position with seven games lost. Maccabi T-A are looking forward to face Maccabi Rishon (#4) in Rishon Le-Zion in the next round. Hapoel Holon will play on the road against Hapoel J-M in Jerusalem and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
