Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Lev Hasharon (7-14) lost at home to seventh ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (11-10) 102-90 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Ironi Nes-Ziona. Lev Hasharon was better in fourth quarter 31-27. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ironi Nes-Ziona made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for point guard Dori Assaf (178-87, agency: Avi Zilberman) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 assists. American forward Gabe Blair (203-87, college: Wichita St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. American forward Grady Reynolds (198-80, college: St.John's, agency: Strategic Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import swingman Shawn Ray (194-80, college: N.C.Central) added 19 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists in the effort for Lev Hasharon. Five Ironi Nes-Ziona and four Lev Hasharon players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ironi Nes-Ziona moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Hod Hasharon and Hapoel Afula. Loser Lev Hasharon dropped to the tenth position with 14 games lost. Ironi Nes-Ziona will face Ironi Ramat Gan (#8) at home in the next round. Lev Hasharon will play against Ironi Kiryat Ata and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
