The game between closely ranked teams ended with 8th ranked Hamar's (6-20) home loss to seventh ranked Fjolnir (8-18) 71-77 on Wednesday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-16. But Hamar won second period 18-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Hamar 52-34 including a 38-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Britney Jones (170-87, college: UAB) scored 30 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Jessika Bradley (190-88, college: San Diego St.) chipped in 24 points and 17 rebounds during the contest. American Katherine Graham (180-89, college: LSU, agency: Merit Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists and 6 steals (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and guard Marin Laufey Davidsdottir (172-94) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds. Fjolnir have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain seventh position with 8-18 record. Hamar lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 20 games lost. Fjolnir will face league's second-placed Njardvik at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Hamar will play against Valur (#6) in Reykjavik and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
