Korisliiga top team - Joensuun Kataja (26-8) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed ninth ranked UU-Korihait (12-21) 91-56. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of UU-Korihait. The game without a history. Joensuun Kataja led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Joensuun Kataja dominated on the defensive end, holding UU-Korihait to just 7 points in first quarter. Joensuun Kataja forced 19 UU-Korihait turnovers. The former international power forward Sami Lehtoranta (205-79) fired 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Jared Newson (195-84, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Pro One Sports) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. Four Joensuun Kataja players scored in double figures. Joensuun Kataja's coach Jukka Toijala felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
