There was no surprise in Gorzow Wlkp. where 14th ranked Inea AZS (2-21) was crushed by sixth ranked AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski (13-10) 76-54 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski. Inea AZS was better in second period 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Inea AZS to just 6 points in fourth quarter. AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Alli Smalley (172-89, college: Auburn) who scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Her fellow American import forward Lyndra Weaver (185-87, college: Virginia) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Four AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski players scored in double figures. Guard Magdalena Gawronska (168-83) produced 10 points and 6 rebounds and American power forward Amber Petillon (193-82, college: Richmond) added 6 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski moved-up to fifth place, which they share with ROW Rybnik. Loser Inea AZS stay dead last with 21 lost games. AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski will face league's leader Wisla Can-Pak in Krakow in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Inea AZS will play at home against Widzew (#10) in Lodz.
