Regular Season Round 24: Benetton TV - Pesaro 66-77
Date: March 7, 2012
Rather predictable result when ninth ranked Scavolini Pesaro (12-9) beat on the road 13th ranked Benetton Treviso (9-13) 77-66. The game was mostly controlled by Scavolini Pesaro. Benetton Treviso was better in fourth quarter 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Scavolini Pesaro made 20-of-26 charity shots (76.9 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Benetton Treviso helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by American guard James White (199-84, college: Cincinnati, agency: Court Side) who scored that evening 21 points and 8 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and Lithuanian power forward Tautvydas Lydeka (208-83) supported him with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Even a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds by American forward Marcus Goree (201-77, college: W.Virginia) did not help to save the game for Benetton Treviso. Naturalized American forward Jeffrey Viggiano (197-84, college: Massachusetts) added 12 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Benetton Treviso's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Scavolini Pesaro moved-up to seventh place. Benetton Treviso at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. Scavolini Pesaro's next round opponent will be Air Avellino (#9) on the road. Benetton Treviso will play against Angelico Biella (#10).
