Regular Season Round 29: Ruvo - Chieti 68-78

Date: March 8, 2012
Not a big story in a game in Ruvo di Puglia where 6th ranked Ruvo (3-25) was defeated by third ranked Chieti (15-13) 78-68 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Chieti. Ruvo was better in second period 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Chieti forced 21 Ruvo turnovers. The best player for the winners was the former international center Emanuele Rossi (208-82) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 17 rebounds. Forward Roberto Feliciangeli (203-74) chipped in 21 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Marco Tagliabue (206-86) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Pasquale de Martino (195-91) added 19 points respectively for the hosts. Chieti have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Bari. Ruvo lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 25 games lost. Chieti will face league's second-placed Orlandina at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ruvo will play against Matera (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
