Regular Season Round 27: A.Ford Burgos - CB Canarias 81-76

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Canarias (20-6) on the court of sixth ranked Ford Burgos on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by Ford Burgos 81-76. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Canarias won third quarter 21-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for guard Rafael Huertas (189-84, agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points. point guard Daniel Lopez (188-82) helped adding 16 points and 4 steals. The best for the losing side was American power forward Jakim Donaldson (204-83, college: Edinboro) with 16 points and 8 rebounds and Argentinian-Italian point guard Nicolas Richotti (181-86) scored 16 points. Four Canarias players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Ford Burgos (17-10) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Lleida. Canarias at the other side still keeps top position with six games lost. Ford Burgos is looking forward to face higher ranked UB La Palma (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Canarias will have a break next round.
