Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Blois (16-9) beat on the road 15th ranked Stade Clermont (8-17) 68-61 on Friday. The guests trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 27-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Finnish forward Ville Kaunisto (204-82) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and American forward Daviin Davis (193-85, college: Weber St.) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Blois players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Marcus Jackson (202-82, college: Marquette) responded with 9 points and 16 rebounds and guard Bianco Matanga (188-87) scored 18 points. Stade Clermont's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Blois moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Roche and Cognac. Loser Stade Clermont keeps the fifteenth position with 17 games lost. Blois will face league's second-placed Saint-Quentin at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Stade Clermont will play against Orchesien BC (#3) in Orchies and be promoted back to the ProB just one year after relegation.
