Regular Season Round 19: Ammerud - Gimle 45-75

The game between third ranked Ammerud (12-7) and fourth ranked Gimle (11-9) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Ammerud was crushed by Gimle in Oslo 75-45. The game without a history. Gimle led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Ammerud to just 6 points in first quarter. Gimle dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Ammerud's 24. Gimle forced 22 Ammerud turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard D'lesha Lloyde (183-86, college: Clemson) fired a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 19 rebounds, 8 assists and 7 steals for the winners. Her fellow American import power forward Amber Land (188-85, college: E.Michigan) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Marianne Sand (183-93) produced 4 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and international center Tina Nesse (184-84) added 4 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Ammerud's coach Patxi Exposito gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Gimle have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 11-9 record. Ammerud lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the third position with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
