There was a small surprise when eighth ranked Novum Lublin (10-11) won against at home 6th ranked Unia Tarnow (10-11) 77-66 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Novum Lublin. Unia Tarnow was better in third quarter 18-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Novum Lublin won last quarter 23-13. They made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Unia Tarnow turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Novum Lublin made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was center Patryk Bajtus (206-91) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds. Center Mateusz Wisniewski (204-91) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. Four Novum Lublin players scored in double figures. Forward Przemyslaw Cygan (198-82) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds and forward Dawid Szewczyk (190-85) added 19 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Novum Lublin moved-up to sixth place in Group C, which they share with Unia Tarnow and Wisla AWF Kr. Unia Tarnow lost their third game in a row. Novum Lublin will face Staco MNLK (#10) in Niepolomice in the next round.
