Second Stage Round 4: BBC Nitia - Basket Esch 67-77

An interesting game for Basket Esch (11-9) which played road game in Bettembourg against 3rd ranked BBC Nitia (2-18). First ranked Basket Esch managed to get a 10-point victory 77-67. The game was mostly controlled by Basket Esch. BBC Nitia managed to win third quarter 16-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely BBC Nitia outrebounded Basket Esch 42-26 including 19 on the offensive glass. The winners were led by Slovakian power forward Stefan Svitek (203-77) who scored that evening 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and Serbian forward Marko Latinovic (202-87, college: Erskine) supported him with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Basket Esch players scored in double figures. Even a triple-double of 22 points, 16 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals by American forward William Arre (199-86, college: Lock Haven) did not help to save the game for BBC Nitia. Latvian power forward Janis Poznaks (202-83) added 22 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for lost side. Basket Esch maintains first position in League with 11-9 record. Newly promoted BBC Nitia keeps the third place with 18 games lost. Basket Esch will meet at home league's second-placed Soleuvre in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. BBC Nitia will play against Heffingen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
