Second Stage Round 6: Al Riyadi - Anibal 92-99

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Al Riyadi (20-2) in Beirut on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Anibal (12-8) 99-92. It ended at the same time the 15-game winning streak of Al Riyadi. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Al Riyadi won third quarter 31-26. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Jasmon Youngblood (195-84, college: Kent St.) scored 38 points (!!!) and 9 assists to lead the charge for the winners and international point guard Rodrigue Akl (189-88, agency: Pro Management Agency) chipped in 14 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Dewarick Spencer (193-82, college: Arkansas St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) with 27 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Egyptian forward Ahmad Ismail (205-76) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 19 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Anibal have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 12-8 record having nine points less than leader Champville. Al Riyadi at the other side dropped to the second place with two games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
