Top ranked Aishin Sea Horses (28-10) recorded its tenth loss in Osaka on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by third ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (22-16) 66-61. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-13. But Aishin Sea Horses won second period 22-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Hitachi Sunrockers won last quarter 17-13. International guard Fumio Nishimura (177-86) fired 20 points and 5 assists for the winners. Swedish forward Christian Maraker (206-82, college: Pacific) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. The former international power forward J.R. Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and Jamaican center Kevin Young (206-84, college: Missouri) added 8 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Hitachi Sunrockers have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 22-16 record having six points less than leader Aishin SH, which they share with Panasonic T. Defending champion Aishin Sea Horses still keep top position with ten games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers is looking forward to face league's second-placed Toyota Alvark in Fuchu in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Aishin Sea Horses will play at home against Mitsubishi Dolphins in Nagoya and are hoping to win this game.
