Regular Season Round 27: Granada - La Palma 58-65

Very predictable result when third ranked UB La Palma (18-9) defeated on the road 17th ranked CB Granada (6-21) 65-58 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 65-58. It was a great evening for guard Cristian Diaz (185-92) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points and 5 assists. American forward Lucas Sikma (203-89, college: Portland) helped adding 11 points and 9 rebounds. UB La Palma's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was the former international center Jesus Fernandez (204-75) with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and Federico Ucles (201-93) scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. UB La Palma moved-up to second place, which they share with Menorca. CB Granada lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth position with 21 games lost. UB La Palma will face Ford Burgos (#5) at home in the next round. CB Granada will play against Lleida Basquet (#4) and be promoted back to the ACB just one year after relegation.
