Regular Season Round 23: 36ers - Breakers 76-91

NBL top team - New Zealand Breakers (19-6) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat eighth ranked Adelaide 36ers (8-17) in Findon 91-76. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Adelaide 36ers. The game was mostly controlled by New Zealand Breakers. Adelaide 36ers was better in second period 21-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for New Zealand swingman Thomas Abercrombie (198-87, college: Washington St., agency: Priority Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points. American power forward Gary Wilkinson (204-82, college: Utah St.) helped adding 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Center Daniel Johnson (212-88, college: Pepperdine) responded with 21 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Diamon Simpson (201-87, college: St.Mary's, CA) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. New Zealand Breakers have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 19-6 record. Adelaide 36ers at the other side keep the eighth position with 17 games lost. New Zealand Breakers will play against Gold Coast Blaze (#3) in Broadbeach in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Adelaide 36ers will play at home against Gold Coast Blaze (#3) in Broadbeach and hope to get back on the winning track.
