Regular Season Round 43: Fukuoka Rizing - Sendai 89ers 67-59

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Fukuoka Rizing (24-13) defeated at home 6th ranked Sendai 89ers (18-19) 67-59 on Saturday. Strangely Sendai 89ers outrebounded Fukuoka Rizing 49-37 including a 38-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. Sendai 89ers were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. Swingman Kevin Palmer (198-87, college: Texas A&M-CC, agency: VVG Sports) fired 25 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Gary Hamilton (208-84, college: Miami, FL) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 18 rebounds. Four Fukuoka Rizing players scored in double figures. Forward Daniel Fitzgerald (206-84, college: Marquette) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and forward Johnny Dukes (203-84, college: San Bernardino CC) added 9 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Sendai 89ers' coach Robert Pierce tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Fukuoka Rizing maintains fourth place with 24-13 record. Sendai 89ers lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 19 games lost. Fukuoka Rizing will face again Sendai 89ers (#6) at home in the next round.
