Very expected game when 9th ranked Aris (7-13) was smashed by second ranked Esperides (16-4) in Glyfada 74-54. The game was mostly controlled by Esperides. Aris was better in third quarter 18-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Esperides forced 28 Aris turnovers. The best player for the winners was American center Latoya Williams (193-87, college: Chipola JC) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds. The other American import guard Haily Dunham (188-87, college: USC, agency: Merit Sports) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. Four Esperides players scored in double figures. Esperides' coach Giorgos Leivadis allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Center Fedra Skiadopoulou (191-90) produced 13 points and 7 rebounds and the former international power forward Evangelia Kotopodi (188-87) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Esperides maintains second position with 16-4 record having four points less than leader Athinaikos. Aris at the other side keeps the ninth place with 13 games lost. Esperides' next round opponent will be DAS Ano Liosa (#6) at home. Aris will play against Kronos AD and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
