Regular Season Round 21: Lucca - Bracco Geas 68-55

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Bracco Geas (9-12) were defeated on the road by fifth ranked Lucca (13-8) 68-55 on Sunday. Lucca dominated on the defensive end, holding Bracco Geas to just 4 points in third quarter. They also forced 21 Bracco Geas turnovers. The best player for the winners was American center Shamela Hampton (191-87, college: UNLV) who scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. Her fellow American import power forward Courtney Willis (188-82, college: E.Carolina, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Swedish center Louice Halvarsson (189-89, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who recorded 11 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Kristin Haynie (175-83, college: Michigan St., agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Four Bracco Geas players scored in double figures. Lucca moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Umbertide. Bracco Geas at the other side dropped to the seventh position with 12 games lost. They share it with Faenza. Lucca is looking forward to face Basket Parma (#6) on the road in the next round. Bracco Geas will play against Alcamo and are hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
