Very important is a road loss of second ranked Akita Happinets (23-17) against fifth ranked Shiga L-Stars (23-15) on Sunday night. Visiting Akita Happinets were defeated by Shiga L-Stars in a tough game in Shiga 74-79. Akita Happinets were ahead by 13 points at the halftime before a 42-24 second half run of Shiga L-Stars. They made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Trinidad and Tobago power forward Julius Ashby (205-82, college: Colorado) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida, agency: Court Side) contributed with 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Forward Yuki Kikuchi (192-80) replied with 27 points and American swingman Ricky Woods (194-84, college: SE Louisiana) added 11 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Akita Happinets. Shiga L-Stars maintains fifth position with 23-15 record. Akita Happinets lost third consecutive game. They keep the second place with 17 games lost. Shiga L-Stars will play against Sendai 89ers (#5) on the road in the next round. Akita Happinets will play against Shinshu BW in Nagano and hope to get back on the winning track.
