Top ranked Regal FC Barcelona (19-5) recorded its fifth loss in Las Palmas on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by fourteenth ranked Gran Canaria 2014 (9-15) in overtime 93-90. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Regal FC Barcelona won fourth quarter 23-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Regal FC Barcelona used huge pressure winning it 23-13 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 16-19. Gran Canaria 2014 dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Regal FC Barcelona's 28. Gran Canaria 2014 forced 19 Regal FC Barcelona turnovers. Gran Canaria 2014 are looking forward to face higher ranked FIATC Joventut (#12) in Badalona in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Regal FC Barcelona will play at home against Blusens Monbus (#15) in Santoago de Comp and is hoping to win this game.
