Regular Season Round 9: Taiwan Mobile - Bank of Taiwan 99-77

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Bank of Taiwan (3-17) was crushed by fifth ranked Taiwan Mobile (9-11) 99-77 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Taiwan Mobile. Bank of Taiwan was better in second period 27-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Bank of Taiwan 40-26 including 18 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was Canadian power forward Ryan Wright (206-87, college: Oklahoma) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds. Swingman Sheng-Yao Liu (190-83) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Wei-Sheng Hsu (198-85) who recorded 22 points and 6 rebounds and international forward Shun-Hsiang Chen (190-85) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Taiwan Mobile maintains fifth place with 9-11 record. Bank of Taiwan lost their ninth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. Taiwan Mobile will face higher ranked Yulon Luxgen (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bank of Taiwan will play against KKL and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
