Regular Season Round 20: Maccabi T-A - Maccabi Rishon 90-73

Premier League top team - Maccabi T-A (16-2) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they beat fifth ranked Maccabi Rishon (11-8) in Tel-Aviv 90-73. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi T-A. Maccabi Rishon managed to win second period 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maccabi T-A dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Maccabi Rishon's 36. They outrebounded Maccabi Rishon 33-21 including 22 on the defensive glass. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a quality performance of power forward Richard Hendrix (203-86, college: Alabama) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and swingman Keith Langford (193-83, college: Kansas) who added 19 points and 6 assists during the contest. Five Maccabi T-A players scored in double figures. Maccabi T-A's coach David Blatt used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Joe Crawford (196-86, college: Kentucky, agency: Priority Sports) responded with 27 points and 5 assists and forward Brandon Bowman (204-84, college: Georgetown) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Maccabi T-A have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 16-2 record. Maccabi Rishon at the other side dropped to the fourth place with eight games lost. Maccabi T-A will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Maccabi Rishon will play at home against Hapoel J-M (#6) in Jerusalem and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
