Biancoblu BO (#12) forced the game against Fileni BPA (#7) into an overtime, but lost by two points 85-87 on Sunday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 13-11. But Biancoblu BO won second period 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Biancoblu BO used huge pressure winning it 22-20 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 12-14. Fileni BPA made 23-of-24 free shots (95.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Biancoblu BO turnovers. Biancoblu BO was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was the former international center Michele Maggioli (212-77) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds. American forward Jeff Brooks (203-89, college: Penn St.) chipped in 25 points and 8 rebounds. The former international guard Brett Blizzard (191-80, college: NC-Wilmington) produced 28 points and the former international point guard Andrea Pecile (187-80) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Four Fileni BPA and five Biancoblu BO players scored in double figures. Fileni BPA have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Centrale Latte. Newly promoted Biancoblu BO keeps the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Fileni BPA will face higher ranked Sigma Barcellona (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Biancoblu BO will play against S.Antimo (#14) in Sant'Antimo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
