Regular Season Round 44: Iwate Big Bulls - Osaka Evessa 65-63

The most exciting game of round 44 in the BJ League took place in Iwate. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Osaka Evessa (26-12) to tenth ranked Iwate Big Bulls (11-29) 65-63 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Osaka Evessa. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 18-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Four Iwate Big Bulls players scored in double figures. American center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Lynn Washington (200-78, college: Indiana) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Iwate Big Bulls maintains tenth position with 11-29 record. Osaka Evessa at the other side keeps the second place with 12 games lost. Iwate Big Bulls are looking forward to face higher ranked Kyoto Hannar. (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Osaka Evessa will play against Shimane Magic and is hoping to win this game.
