Regular Season Round 21: Hap.Petah Tikva - H.R. Le-Zion 70-73

A very interesting game took place in Petah Tikva. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 7th ranked Hap.Petah Tikva (7-12) to ninth ranked Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (7-12) 73-70 in the fight for the seventh place. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hap.Petah Tikva won third quarter 18-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion won last quarter 17-16. They made 24-of-30 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Hap.Petah Tikva helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The game was also dominated by American players. It was a good game for guard Jori Davis (175-89, college: Indiana, agency: Merit Sports) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Alexis Gray-Lawson (173-87, college: California) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion players scored in double figures. Swingman Sheri Lynette Sam (183-74, college: Vanderbilt, agency: Ronsport) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Chastity Reed (185-89, college: UALR) added 13 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Hap.Petah Tikva. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Hap.Petah Tikva and Elitzur Netanya. Hap.Petah Tikva lost fourth consecutive game. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion's next round opponent will be Elitzur Netanya (#8) at home.
