There was a minor upset in Las Palmas where 5th ranked Mann Filter (15-9) was rolled over by eighth ranked Gran Canaria (12-11) 74-50 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Gran Canaria led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Gran Canaria forced 21 Mann Filter turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Lisa Lee (183-84, college: Charleston) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import D'andra Moss (178-88, college: VCU, agency: Two Points) who added 27 points (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) during the contest. Coach Domingo Diaz's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was Bulgarian forward Jaklin Zlatanova (190-88) with 12 points and 8 rebounds and guard Queralt Casas (180-92) scored 12 points. Gran Canaria moved-up to seventh place. Loser Mann Filter keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. Gran Canaria will face league's leader Ros Casares in Valencia in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Mann Filter will play at home against Arranz-Jopisa Burgos (#9).
