Second Stage Round 4: Siarka Jezioro - LKS Lodz 88-79

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Siarka Jezioro (14-16) beat 8th ranked LKS Sphinx (4-26) in Tarnobrzeg 88-79 on Wednesday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Siarka Jezioro dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to LKS Sphinx's 44 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Siarka Jezioro forced 19 LKS Sphinx turnovers. It was a very good performance for American guard J.T. Tiller (191-88, college: Missouri) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 rebounds. The other American import forward Nicchaeus Doaks (202-87, college: Chattanooga) contributed with 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Guard Michal Michalak (194-93) replied with 20 points and 9 rebounds and center Krzysztof Sulima (202-90) added 13 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for LKS Sphinx. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Siarka Jezioro moved-up to third place in Group B, which they share with AZS Koszalin. LKS Sphinx lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth position with 26 games lost. Siarka Jezioro will face AZS Koszalin (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. LKS Sphinx will play against the league's second-placed Kotwica (#2) in Kolobrzeg.
