Everything went according to plan when second ranked Trieste (21-10) defeated on the road 5th ranked Fabriano (8-22) 77-60 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Trieste. Fabriano was better in fourth quarter 22-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Fabriano 41-24 including a 18-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for power forward Marco Maganza (204-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Luca Gandini (205-85) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Giorgio Sgobba (202-92) answered with 14 points and 5 rebounds and forward Giulio Castelletta (206-92) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Fabriano. Four Fabriano players scored in double figures. Trieste keeps a position of league leader. Fabriano lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth place with 22 games lost. Trieste will face league's second-placed Ferentino at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Fabriano will play against the league's second-placed Torino.
