This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 6th ranked Grupo Iruna Navarra (16-12) to eighth ranked CB Clavijo (15-13) 81-80 on Friday evening. CB Clavijo forced 20 Grupo Iruna Navarra turnovers. Naturalized American forward Jeffrey Bonds (199-82, college: Cal Poly Pomona) fired 20 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. American point guard Mathew Witt (183-84, college: E.Kentucky) chipped in 17 points. CB Clavijo's coach Jesus Sala used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Inaki Narros (194-81) produced 19 points and 9 rebounds and Czech center Ondrej Starosta (215-79) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Grupo Iruna Navarra players scored in double figures. CB Clavijo have an impressive five-game winning streak. Newly promoted CB Clavijo maintains eighth position with 15-13 record, which they share with Breogan. Grupo Iruna Navarra at the other side keeps the sixth place with 12 games lost. CB Clavijo is looking forward to face Leche Rio Breogan (#9) in Lugo in the next round. Grupo Iruna Navarra will play on the road against Girona FC and is hoping to win this game.
