Regular Season Round 10: Yulon Luxgen - Bank of Taiwan 68-51

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Yulon Luxgen (13-10) beat bottom-ranked Bank of Taiwan (4-18) 68-51 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Yulon Luxgen. Bank of Taiwan was better in third quarter 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Bank of Taiwan to just 6 points in first quarter. They outrebounded Bank of Taiwan 46-34 including a 22-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Yulon Luxgen made 7 blocks. It was a very good performance for American forward Kevin Johnson (201-84, college: Humboldt St.) who helped to win the game recording 9 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 blocks. The former international forward Cheng-Ju Lu (194-86) contributed with 15 points for the winners. American power forward John Vaudreuil (203-85, college: Minn.-Duluth, agency: Warren Sports International) replied with 13 points and 7 rebounds and the former international forward Chih-Chiang Hsu (194-82) added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Bank of Taiwan. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Despite that victory Yulon Luxgen went down to third position due to points difference. Bank of Taiwan lost tenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 18 games lost. Yulon Luxgen will face Taiwan Beer (#4) in the next round. Bank of Taiwan will play against the league's second-placed Dacin Tigers.
