The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Marinos (20-4) in Puerto La Cruz on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Trotamundos (13-11) in overtime 93-86. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Marinos. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 25-24 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 7-point victory in overtime. Trotamundos held Marinos to an opponent 0.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 0.0 percent accuracy of the winners. 28 personal fouls committed by Marinos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Marinos will play on the road against Guaiqueries (#5) in Porlamar and are hoping to win this game.
