No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Lleida Basquet (18-10) smashed at home 17th ranked CB Granada (6-22) 71-52 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Lleida Basquet. CB Granada was better in fourth quarter 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ivorian-American forward Jonathan Kale (203-85, college: Providence) fired 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American-Italian point guard Steve Dagostino (180-85, college: St.Rose, NY, agency: Duran International) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Lleida Basquet players scored in double figures. The former international center Jesus Fernandez (204-75) produced 19 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Jose Manuel Coego (204-78) added 7 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Lleida Basquet have a solid four-game winning streak. Lleida Basquet moved-up to third place, which they share with Menorca. CB Granada lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth position with 22 games lost. Lleida Basquet will face Ford Burgos (#5) on the road in the next round. CB Granada will play against Palencia Baloncesto (#11) and be promoted back to the ACB just one year after relegation.
