Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Roche (17-9) won against on the road 12th ranked Angers BC 49 (12-14) 79-72 on Friday. Angers BC 49 was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 6-point lead after three quarters before a 29-16 charge of Roche, which allowed them to win the game. Forward Aurelien Toto N'Kote (194-79) had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Bahamas power forward Lavar Simmons (201-83, college: Master's) chipped in 18 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Four Roche players scored in double figures. American forward Tyray Pearson (201-80, college: Iowa St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Pierre-Etienne Drouault (194-90) scored 23 points. Roche moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Cognac and Blois. Loser Angers BC 49 keeps the twelfth position with 14 games lost. Roche will meet at home Montbrison (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Angers BC 49 will play against CFBB (#18) in Paris and hope to secure a win.
