Regular Season Round 21: Aris - Kronos AD 51-48

A very close game took place in Thessaloniki between Aris and Kronos AD. Ninth ranked Aris (8-13) got a very close home victory over 8th ranked Kronos AD (8-13). Aris managed to escape with a 3-point win 51-48 in the fight for the eighth place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kronos AD. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 51-48. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Nafsika Stavridou (182-86) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Niki Hatzakou (175-82) chipped in 9 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian power forward Milena Vukicevic (188-80) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 17 rebounds and forward Maria Zikiridou (187-83) added 11 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Aris moved-up to eighth place, which they share with defeated Kronos AD. Aris will meet higher ranked DAS Ano Liosa (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kronos AD will play against FEA Neas in Halkidon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
