No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Souffelweyersheim (18-8) defeated on the road 13th ranked Chartres (10-16) 69-57 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Souffelweyersheim. Chartres managed to win second period 12-3. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Chartres 38-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. Senegalese power forward Abdoulaye N'Diaye (210-84, college: USC) scored 8 points and 16 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Frederic Broliron (193-79) chipped in 18 points during the contest. Serbian center Ljubomir Avramovic (201-79) responded with 16 points and 6 rebounds and guard Willy Berquier (177-87) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Souffelweyersheim maintains fourth position with 18-8 record. Chartres lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth place with 16 games lost. They share the position with Rueil. Souffelweyersheim will meet at home Etendard de Brest (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. Chartres will play against Le Puy ASMB (#17) in Le Puy en Velay and hope to secure a win.
