The game between Top Four teams took place in Ettelbruck. 4th placed host Etzella (11-12) was smashed by second ranked Sparta (18-5) 86-64. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-64. Sparta outrebounded Etzella 43-32 including 33 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Larrie Smith (198-75, college: Tenn Tech) who scored 27 points and 8 rebounds. American point guard Kasey Ulin (184-82, college: Dickinson St.) chipped in 23 points and 4 assists. Four Sparta players scored in double figures. Sparta's coach Rainer Kloss felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international swingman Nelson Delgado (188-80) produced 26 points and American-Liberian forward Daniel Horace (200-83, college: Miami, OH, agency: KMG Sports Management) added 12 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Sparta maintains second place in League with 18-5 record behind leader T71. Loser Etzella dropped to the fifth position with 12 games lost. Sparta will meet Musel Pikes (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Etzella will play against the league's leader T71 in Dudelange and hope to secure a win.
