Regular Season Round 27: Sudety - Polonia 72-82

Very expected game when 15th ranked Sudety (3-23) lost to tenth ranked Polonia (13-12) in Jelenia Gora 72-82 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-72. Polonia made 24-of-27 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 26 Sudety turnovers and outrebounded them 39-21 including a 15-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Polonia made 7 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for guard Hubert Mazur (190-84) who led the winners and scored 27 points and 4 assists. The former international power forward Marek Miszczuk (212-77) accounted for 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Forward Jaroslaw Wilusz (200-85) came up with 18 points and 8 rebounds and forward Marcin Sterenga (201-78) added 16 points respectively for Sudety in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Polonia moved-up to eighth place, which they share with AZS Kutno. Sudety lost their sixth game in a row. Sudety at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay dead last with 23 lost games. Polonia will meet at home league's second-placed SKK Siedlce in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sudety will play against MOSiR Krosno (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
