Regular Season Round 24: Wilki Morskie - GKK Gorzow 67-70

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Szczecin where 10th ranked Wilki Morskie (7-15) was edged by eleventh ranked GKK Gorzow (6-16) 70-67 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Wilki Morskie won third quarter 17-8. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when GKK Gorzow won last quarter 21-20. They also forced 25 Wilki Morskie turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when GKK Gorzow made 10 blocks. The best player for the winners was guard Tomasz Ejsmont (190-90) who scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Center Rafal Peczek (205) chipped in 9 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Radoslaw Bojko (196-91) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 blocks and center Marcin Kowalski (205-82) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Four Wilki Morskie players scored in double figures. Newly promoted GKK Gorzow maintains eleventh position in Group A with 6-16 record. Wilki Morskie at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the tenth place with 15 games lost. GKK Gorzow will face league's leader Open Florentyna in Pleszew in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
